Aboriginal Services

The Department acknowledges and respects Aboriginal history and culture. This is reflected in its Statement of Reconciliation and in its involvement in activities such as NAIDOC celebrations, Apology anniversary commemorations, and engaging with Aboriginal people in justice-related initiatives.

The Department's Aboriginal Services Directorate co-ordinates and facilitates consultation with the Aboriginal community through the multi-agency Aboriginal Justice Agreement.

The Directorate is also responsible for administering Aboriginal Mediation Services.

The Aboriginal Visitors Scheme, formerly administered by the Directorate, is now administered by the Department of Corrective Services.
