Honourable Michael Mischin LLB (Hons) BJuris (Hons) MLC
Attorney General; Minister for Commerce
Michael Mischin was elected to Parliament in September 2008 as a Liberal Party Member of the Legislative Council representing the North Metropolitan Region.
He took up his seat in May 2009 and served as the Parliamentary Secretary to then Attorney General.
He was appointed Attorney General in June 2012.
Before entering Parliament, Mr Mischin was a Senior State Prosecutor with the Director of Public Prosecutions for Western Australia.
He graduated from the University of Western Australia with Bachelor degrees with Honours in Laws and Jurisprudence in 1982 and practised in private law firms until 1985 when he joined the Crown Law Department and began to specialise in criminal law.
Apart from public safety, Michael has an interest in animal welfare and is committed to constructive federalism.
