Preparing your Resume
Your resume can be presented in various formats, but should succinct and easy to read. Remember, you want to make a positive impression to the selection panel.
Tailor your resume to the position you are applying for. You may need to highlight or pay special attention to certain skills, knowledge and experience and your employment history as it relates to the job. This will make it easier for the selection panel to assess your application.
Think about what your resume says, how easy it is to read and the order you put it in.
Be dynamic in how you present your work history and skills.
Use positive language.
Make sure it is presentable, easy to read and free from spelling mistakes.
Your resume serves many purpose, including:
- provides information to the selection panel on your suitability for the position
- accompanies and reinforces your responses to the selection criteria
- emphasises your career highlights, achievements and experiences not just your work history
- highlights your competencies.
