State Solicitors Office

The State Solicitor’s Office provides broad-based legal services to the Government of Western Australia and many State Government departments, instrumentalities and agencies.

These legal services include:

  • conducting litigation
  • providing legal advice
  • representing clients in courts and tribunals
  • preparing a range of legal documents, including
  • contracts, agreements and court documents.

The office also advises the Attorney General on legal matters, including those relating to law reform.

The State Solicitor’s Office is not permitted to provide legal advice to private individuals or businesses. If you require legal assistance contact a private solicitor or a public law body such as Legal Aid WA.
